李朝义，男，中国科学院院士，中国着名神经科学家，现任中国科学院上海生命科学研究院神经科学研究所学术委员会主任、高级研究员，视觉与认知实验室研究组长，国际脑研究组织(IBRO)亚太地区委员会理事，复旦大学、中国科技大学、华中科技大学、电子科技大学、暨南大学和第三军医大学兼职教授和荣誉教授。

李朝义 院士

1934年出生于重庆。1956年中国医科大学毕业。1961年复旦大学研究生毕业。现任中国科学院上海生命科学研究院生命中心研究员。1999年当选为中国科学院院士和国际脑研究组织（IBRO）亚太地区委员会理事。

先后在德国马克斯－普朗克生物物理化学研究所、美国普林斯顿大学、比利时鲁文基督大学、加拿大麦基尔大学、日本九州工学院、和法国国家科学研究中心任客座科学家。受聘为复旦大学、中国科技大学、华中科技大学、暨南大学和第三军医大学兼职教授和荣誉教授。曾担任国家基金委神经科学、心理学、病理生理学、和医学评审组组长，和中国科学院重大交叉前沿研究项目“脑和意识研究”首席科学家。现兼任“中国神经科学杂誌”主编。

中国共产党优秀党员，着名神经生物学家，中国科学院院士，中国科学院上海生命科学研究院研究员,电子科技大学双聘院士、生命科学与技术学院教授、视觉认知与类脑计算实验室主任、神经信息教育部重点实验室学术委员会名誉主任、博士生导师李朝义先生，因病医治无效，不幸于2018年8月11日18时49分在上海市第六人民医院逝世，享年八十五岁。

主要从事视觉中枢研究，在国际刊物上发表了四十余篇研究论文（见publication list）。这些论文揭示了在视网膜、外膝体和视皮层各级神经元的感受野外面，都存在着一个範围比感受野大几十倍的“ 整合野”，系统地阐明了整合野在複杂图像信息处理中的重要性。在此基础上提出了感受野“ 三重结构”的新理论。这些结果已被国外广泛引用，并被国外学者套用于解释人类脑电图对图形刺激的反应，以及套用于神经网路和人工智慧等研究领域。在视觉信息大範围整合研究方面处于国际前沿，该领域已成为国际上研究複杂视觉信息处理神经机制的热点。由于以上贡献，先后获得中国科学院自然科学二等奖（1991年）、国家自然科学二等奖（1997年）、和何梁何利科学与技术进步奖（2000年）。
