人人都喜欢灰姑娘式的童话故事。2006年夏天，穿上水晶鞋的是一个叫Cassie的黑人姑娘。几乎一夜之间一个慵懒性感的女声，带着一首叫做《Me&U》的歌，抢占了所有电台和夜店。iTunes网站上，这首歌已经成为购买次数第三高的歌曲，而这个叫做Cassie的19岁女孩的个人space也迅速吸引到了超过三百万的点击率。

本名Cassandra Ventura的Cassie出生于1986年8月26日。凭藉着出众的外型，从14岁开始便是一名签约模特。但由于出生在一个有着良好音乐氛围的家庭，她一直尝试着在音乐方面也做出成绩。 2005年，Cassie录出一首歌曲《Kiss Me》作为送给母亲的生日礼物，她把这支歌送到纽约Casablanca唱片办公室的一个音乐製作人手里，恰好遇上了前SONY唱片公司总裁Tommy Mottola，这位慧眼发掘出Mariah Carey和Jennifer Lopez的唱片业传奇人物在试听了Cassie的几首歌曲后立刻产生浓厚的兴趣。

在步入音乐之前，Cassie曾在Wilhelmina公司做职业模特。她和Adidas、Complex杂誌以及Abercrombie & Fitch活动都有过合作。现在在她的个人部落格上还可以找到她原来模特时期的照片。
