《I Don't Want to Talk About It》由Danny Whitten创作，在1971年发行于Danny Whitten所在的乐队Crazy Horse的同名专辑《Crazy Horse》中。
在1975年，着名摇滚歌手Rod Stewart重新演绎了这首歌，并收录于其专辑《Atlantic Crossing》中，发行之后便取得了巨大的成功，一举成为1979年美国"BillboardHot 100"前50热门金曲。
在1988年6月，夫妻档乐队Everything but the Girl发行了他们的翻唱版本，同样也取得巨大成功，最高时曾占据英国"UK Singles Chart"第三位。
张国荣的歌曲《情难自控》亦是改编自此歌，另外华人歌手张惠妹、王杰等也都翻唱过。目前传颂的多为Rod Stewart的版本和Everything but the Girl的版本。
